Standing Committee Chairperson Duties and Term of Office
The duties of the Chairperson of each Standing Committee of The Lake Minnetonka Garden Club (the “Club”) shall include:
- Unless expressly stated below, attend all Board meetings, or if not possible, send Assistant Chairperson as a substitute.
- Mentor the Assistant Chairperson, if any, by involving the assistant in all activities in preparation for assumption of the role of Chairperson.
- Form committees to carry out the mission of the Standing Committee and to encourage membership involvement in Club activities.
- Prepare a budget and submit any appropriate expenses.
- Prepare and submit an annual report, and submit an electronic copy of the report to the President and the Historian, and place one in the Committee file.
- Deliver all relevant materials (hard copies in person and/or electronic files) to the successive Chairperson at the June Board meeting or no later than July 1.
- Work with the Zone XI Reps and Garden Club of America (the “GCA”) Committee Chairs.
- Coordinate any local and national Public Relations and communications needs with the Communications Chairperson.
- The duties of the chairperson are subject to change by appropriate action of the Board of Directors.
Terms of Office
- The term of office for each Standing Committee Chairperson shall be one year, except the term of office for the Horticulture and Conservation & National Affairs.
- Chairpersons of Standing Committees are not eligible for re-election after two successive terms
