Chair Job Description

The Chairperson shall:

  1. Work with the Zone XI GCA Rep to become knowledgeable about, act on, communicate to the Club and respond back to the GCA on conservation issues.
  2. Plan a conservation program each year in coordination with the Program Chairperson.
  3. Encourage conservation practices within the Club and in the community.
  4. Attend the GCA National Affairs and Legislative Conference in Washington DC each of two years, one year with LMGC Club president and one year with Assistant Conservation Chair. Report the activities and outcomes of the GCA National Affairs and Legislative Conference to the Club membership.
  5. Encourage members to read the GCA Con Watch on-line Newsletter.
  6. Present pertinent information at the new member orientation meeting.
  7. Work with the Horticulture Chairperson to develop and implement the GCA “Partners for Plants” Program.
  8. Submit to the Administrative Assistant in a timely manner an announcement or other relevant information for the “Conservation Corner” for publication in the Club meeting notice.

Assistant Chair Job Description

Assistant Chairperson shall:

  1. Shadow the Conservation and NAL Chairperson in preparation for serving as chair.
  2. Participate in the Partners for Plants club projects.
  3. Take on specific duties as needed.
