Chair Job Description

The Chairperson shall:

  1. Oversee planning, staging and implementation of flower shows, working closely with the Horticulture and Photography Committees. A flower show can include horticulture, flower arranging, botanical jewelry and photography or just one of these.
  2. Support the LMGC’s commitment to having a flower show every four years.
  3. Plan educational workshops in flower arranging for the membership in coordination with the Program Committee Chairperson.
  1. Encourage member participation in flower shows of other clubs.
  2. Encourage and assist members to become flower show judges.
  3. Keep a record of flower show participants and awards.
  4. Coordinate with the Horticulture and Photography Committees on the presentation, documentation and return of the Club’s Horticulture, Flower Arranging and Photography trophies (“Best of Show” club bowls). Trophies shall be passed winner to winner at the Flower Shows. Information about the winner shall be included in the Club’s annual Year Book.

The Assistant shall:

  1. In conjunction with the Vice President have the new members of the current year do flower arrangements for the Club annual meeting
